MISS GRIEB'S RESOURCES
Hello Berean Students and Families,
The goal of this page is to provide you with a centralized place where you can find a variety of resources to support you during this unusual season. I hope you find them helpful.
May you always remember that you are held in the hands of a loving Father.

CLASS RESOURCES
Khan Academy offers free help in a huge variety of subjects.
Language Bird offers free help for learning languages, including Zoom chat rooms for students to practice talking to other students while being monitored by an instructor.
Crash Course does an incredible job of covering a wide variety of subjects.
Tom Richey is a great resource for history classes (and recommended by Mrs. Merlino!).
Parents, if your student is struggling during this time and you want to help them stay on top of their classwork, you can become a Google Classroom Guardian. As a guardian, you can receive email summaries showing your student’s progress in the classroom.
SAT AND ACT TESTING
Seniors, I know that many of you were scheduled to take tests that were cancelled. I know that can be stressful, but keep in mind that the whole world is experiencing the same thing, and colleges are very aware of it. Many colleges have announced that they will be test-optional for applicants this fall. While this is awesome, it is not the case for every college, so before you decide to skip testing altogether, make sure that you research all of your colleges and find out if that is the case. In general, colleges will be more understanding if students have only taken the test once or twice.
On the bright side, many companies are offering free online test prep! Kaplan is offering a 7 day free trial. They are also offering free SAT, ACT, and AP prep resources. ACT Academy is a free, personalized online learning tool and offers test practice featuring video lessons, interactive questions, full-length practice tests, educational games, and other materials targeted to students’ academic needs.
COLLEGE STUFF
I know that some of you had to cancel college visits. I’m sorry! Some colleges are offering (live) virtual tours. You can email the admissions department to find out if this is an option.
If you have plans to apply to a UC, you can check out their statements here. If you have plans to apply to a CSU, you will find their statements here.
You can view a free guide to Christian colleges and universities from NACCAP.
The American College Application Campaign’s College Research Worksheet is a downloadable guide that can help you to understand match, fit, and cost when researching colleges and identifying to which colleges you want to apply.

FINANCIAL AID
Seniors, the FAFSA will open on October 1st. However, the tax documents used may not reflect your family's current financial situation. If this is the case, once you have applied to colleges, reach out to each college’s financial aid office. Financial aid reps are allowed to work with families to adjust aid in unexpected situations. For more financial aid information (especially for those of you with students already in college right now), check out this website. Higher Education Financial Aid Resources Group (HEFAR) offers a variety of financial aid resources and webinars as well.

ENCOURAGING WORDS, THOUGHTS TO PONDER, UPLIFTING RESOURCES
This video is a good reminder both that we need to show up (virtually) for one another during this time, but also that we need to reach out when we need help.
