MUSIC CLASSES OFFERED AT BEREAN
ADVANCED CHOIR
This course is reserved for the school's best singers selected through an audition process at the end of the prior school year. The Advanced Choir engages in various concerts throughout the school year as well as community performances at local schools, with participation in all events being mandatory. Students will explore and perform a diverse repertoire, showcasing their talents. Notably, this choir embarks on an annual tour to Southern California, where they have the opportunity to perform at various venues, sharing the love of Christ through song.
CHORALE
This class is open to all students who have a passion for singing and a genuine desire to cultivate and refine their vocal abilities. Throughout the course, students will be introduced to and build upon fundamental music concepts and vocal techniques, which are essential for choral singing. They will have the opportunity to perform a broad and diverse selection of choral music throughout the academic year. These performances will take place at all major school concerts as well as selected chapel services, offering students ample opportunities to demonstrate their growth and musical development.
CONCERT BAND
This course is crafted to provide students with a comprehensive and enriching education in instrumental music. Class activities focus on developing essential skills, including instrumental technique, tone production, tuning, music theory fundamentals, sight-reading, and critical listening. Students will have numerous opportunities to perform, both as part of an ensemble and as accompanists for our distinguished choirs, allowing them to apply their skills in a variety of musical settings.
