Frequently Asked Questions
What is Berean Christian doing to clean and sanitize buildings, buses, etc.?
Cleaning and disinfecting are part of a broad approach to preventing infectious diseases in schools. Other measures include staying home when sick, covering coughs and sneezes, and washing hands often. All classroom surfaces (desks and tables) are being disinfected every night by our janitorial staff. Classrooms have also been supplied with containers of disinfecting wipes that can be used by students and teachers at will. Additionally, we are recommending that hand sanitizer be employed by our staff and students throughout the day as needed. In addition to having all school desks and tables sterilized every evening, we have instructed our janitorial staff to sanitize every classroom door handle multiple times per day.
How do you determine if school needs to be closed?
To make a determination of school closure, we would await instruction from the Contra Costa County Health Department.
If school does close, what factors will be used to reopen?
Again, we would await guidance from the Contra Costa County Health Department to provide the timeline and reopening instructions.
Is Berean Christian prepared for long-term closure?
In the event of a long-term closure, efforts would be made for provision of distance-based learning for students (i.e., Internet instruction, community channel broadcast) to maintain continuity of education.
