Esther Shin

Hello, my name is Esther Shin, DPT and I am excited to be coaching Cross-Country (XC) this Fall
at Berean Christian HS. My passion for running started at a young age, racing other kids across
the field. In my high school XC career in Maryland and I made All-County, made it to Regionals,
and came 34 th in the State. I continued running 5K’s, Half-Marathons, Marathons, and even a
few Triathlons throughout my life.

I am a physical therapist with my Masters (Loma Linda University) and Doctorate (A.T. Still
University) in Physical Therapy. I work at an outpatient clinic, San Ramon Valley Physical
Therapy and really enjoy my work there.

I have been an Assistant Coach with my older son’s XC and Track team for the last 3 years and
decided I have a passion to Coach and help runners run faster. I am excited to create a program
that will help runners reach their full potential and instill the joy of running.
Being a Christian my whole life, I have a personal relationship with Jesus and feel he is our Lord
and Savior. I hope that through our journey as runners, we will seek the Lord to lead us in our
experiences and help us see his true glory and love. I would like for our runners to show
empathy for each other, to show kindness to help lift each other up, and to serve each other by
taking care of one another.

I look forward to meeting each runner and their families this fall.
