American Sign Language I, II & III; Department Chair of Language Other Than English (LOTE)
Greetings, thank you for checking out the American Sign Language class page. As a former missionary to the Deaf in Mexico, my heart and passion are teaching, sharing, and inspiring students as second language learners to develop a love for the language, the Deaf, and their Culture. To inspire them to apply what they have learned personally and to share and further the Gospel to those in the Deaf community and beyond.
I believe American Sign Language (ASL) should be taught in a positive, fun, and effective manner, addressing a variety of learning styles. This will be accomplished by providing a multi-sensory environment to promote successful second language acquisition among all students, enhancing their God-given talents and abilities for use to glorify Him and fulfill the “Great Commission." Romans 10:14 says, "How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?
