La Shawn Wells

Hello,

My name is La Shawn Bouvier Wells, and I became the Athletic Director at Berean Christian High School in 2019. Over the last 20 years, God has providentially prepared me for this position, and I am thankful for the opportunity to serve Him in this very fulfilling capacity. 

I grew up in the Los Angeles area as a three-sport athlete, eventually choosing football, which led to a scholarship at the University of the Pacific, where I earned my bachelor's degree. 

For several decades, I have coached girls softball, both at the elite travel and high school levels. I am the co-founder and a current board member of Universal Fastpitch, which is an elite travel organization that has helped over sixty young ladies receive scholarships to major colleges and universities. I've also spent time as a pitching instructor, doing both private and group lessons.  

In addition to my contributions on the field, I founded Right Choice Coaching, a mindset consulting company that specializes in training sports teams, individuals, and families, who struggle with mental toughness, business issues, and personal struggles.  I also spent time serving at Western Career College in Concord, CA. While there, I functioned in multiple roles, which included the dean of education, the campus executive director, and as an instructor. 

Before my time in education, I earned a law degree and started a business as an NFL player representative. Before that, I worked in the nonprofit sector, serving those in disadvantaged communities and with organizations assisting the homeless, neglected teens, developmentally delayed adults, and adults and children with autism.

I am blessed to have published two books, one on parenting and the other on sports parents. 

The Lord has given me well-rounded life experiences, and there is one thing I know to be true about coaching - Christian coaches are called to be agents of transformation in the lives of God's people. I look forward to many more years of serving the Lord and seeing him do amazing things in our athletic program.
