Head Coach Ladies' Soccer

I have been a part of the Berean Women’s Soccer program since 2008, where I started as an assistant coach until I took over the program and became head coach in 2015. We have qualified for NCS many times in those 13 years, but we have qualified for NCS every season since I took over.

For me, soccer was huge in my life. I played all growing up, competing for the top club team in our area, and of course I played at Clayton Valley High School while I was there. After high school, I continued to play at the collegiate level at Diablo Valley College before transferring and playing at Vanguard University. In 2005, I began a decade-long coaching stint of the girls soccer team at North Creek Academy. We won the league title the last 5 seasons I was there. I started coaching club soccer in 2007, where both my U11 and U12 girls soccer teams won state cup. That year, I received the “Coach of the Year” award at Heritage Soccer Club.

While I coach because I love the game, ultimately, I coach because I want my players to know that I care about them individually and want to build a relationship with them. I firmly believe coaches can have a huge and positive impact in a player’s life both on and off the field. I want to be a coach that teaches, guides and molds these young girls into strong believing women of God, and help them find their identity in Christ. What better way to do this than through our shared passion for soccer?

For me, success is a journey. Success is building trust with your players, and the players with their teammates. Growing spiritually together, working hard for each other. If at the end of a season if you can look back and see the mental and spiritual growth of your players, I consider that season to have been a success, regardless of the outcomes of games played on the field.
